Urge the President and Senate to Support Children's Rights

Imani Works joins with the United Nations in supporting human rights for children.  We have started a campaign to educate Senators on the Convention on the Rights of the Child .  The United States is the only free member state of the United Nations that has not ratified the rights of children.

Every November we send hundreds of colorful hands to Washington, DC with signatures from those of you who support human rights for children.  How can you help?

1.  Trace as many hands as you can find.

2.  Sign your name on a pair of hands. And send them to us.

3.  On November 20, International Children's Day, we send the hands to Washington.

4.  Let us know how you are doing collecting hands.

It is suspected that Tamil civilians in concentration camps become the victims of state sanctioned genocide in Sri Lanka.  News is scarce since all journalists were dismissed from the country nearly one year ago.

URGE the UN to INVESTIGATE TODAY

Free Prisoners of Conscience
Amnesty International's Global Write-a-thon  is just one of the resources for our letter writing campaign.  AI allows you to write letters on behalf of prisoners of conscience held inhumanely and against their human rights in countries around the world for non criminal activity.
Since joining the campaign in December 2008, Imani Works has collected and mailed nearly 2000 letters/signatures. Six prisoners have been released and one situation rectified.  Join our efforts today and help protect others from frivolous imprisonment.  Visit our office to sign a letter for one of 14 people that we continue to support.  You sign it.  We will mail it for you.
Currently, we are supporting the call for the United Nations to investigate the suspected genocide of the Sri Lankan Tamil civilians after a bitter civil war.  We join the work of Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and others around the world by signing the petition to the UN.  Read more and sign the petition online HERE.
